At THE MAX Challenge, we understand the fears and challenges that cardiac rehab patients face. Whether it’s concerns about physical limitations, uncertainty about fitness, or the fear of pushing too hard, we are here to support you every step of the way. That’s why we take a holistic approach to wellness—combining fitness, nutrition, and accountability to help you feel your best. We take pride in truly getting to know each of our members, understanding their personal goals, concerns, and any physical limitations they may have. At THE MAX, you’re never just another face—we cater to your individual needs with care and compassion. This isn’t just a gym; it’s a supportive community designed to empower you, meet you where you are, and help you move forward with confidence.
After 12 weeks of cardiac rehabilitation, many patients struggle to maintain their progress and fall back into old habits. THE MAX Challenge bridges the gap, providing ongoing care and accountability through:
Low-Impact Fitness: Gradual workouts designed to build strength safely.
Guided Nutrition Plans: Learn how to eat to fuel your body and maintain heart health.
Motivational Support: Stay motivated with a community that keeps you on track.
Taking the next step with us will help you maintain momentum, reduce the risk of relapse, and develop healthy habits for life.
“When I founded THE MAX Challenge in 2011, my goal was to create a program that combined fitness, nutrition, and motivation to help people achieve lasting transformations—not just physically, but mentally and emotionally as well. I wanted to provide a complete solution where people could change their lifestyle, not just their workouts. In the fall of 2022, I faced an unexpected heart attack at the age of 53. As someone who spent my life in martial arts and fitness, I found it surprisingly overwhelming to return to physical activity. That experience gave me a deeper understanding of the challenges many face after a cardiac event. It also reinforced how important it is to have the right kind of program to lean on—one that’s supportive, adaptable, and motivating. THE MAX Challenge is exactly that: a place where individuals, including graduates of CentraState’s Cardiac Rehabilitation Program, can build on their progress, regain their confidence, and continue their wellness journey with a community that has their back every step of the way.”
“The biggest win for me was I went to the doctor and after doing blood work and getting a physical, coming off the medication that I was on because I was overweight. Just do it. There’s no reason not to.”
“In my 20’s, I had a heart bypass surgery, so I had never pushed myself. When I joined, I actually didn’t even think losing more weight was even an option for me. Now, I’m down almost 35 pounds. They taught me that I could. They gave me the time to just start on level one and take my time. And now, I’ve never been this strong. I’ve never been this thin. I’ve never been this happy.”
“I started weighing 234 pounds. I was on high blood pressure medication. After finishing the program, my blood pressure was spot on perfect. Other members are of all different ages and fitness levels, and it’s a very supportive atmosphere. Don’t be discouraged. You’re going to really see results.”
“I got a doctor’s report that kind of said, ‘Hey Jen, you should really do something good for yourself. You need to improve these numbers; you’re getting older now.’ I came in, I gave it a shot. I loved everything about coming here, it really has been a gift to be part of this family, and this community. I liked going back to the doctor and seeing my blood results completely do a 360.”
